May Day madness ensued at Coombe Valley Raceway, Dover, as banger drivers battled it out in somewhat unusual steeds. Yes, that's right, Big Vans where the vehicle of choice, and the action did not disappoint.
And neither did the array of vans for this special occasion. Everything from a Renault Traffic Ambulance, right through to a huge LDV minibus, piloted by 20 year old rising star Dean Harper.
Dean, from Rainham, Kent, said the beast was nothing like anything he had ever driven:
"It was huge for a start! But it was great fun, I've never had so much fun in a banger, and the body fell off as well, which is what I wanted to happen!"
Also victim to the destruction was the afor mentioned ambulance, and a Bedford Campervan. No caravan holiday this year!
Amidst the carnage, there were also some race winners, Mick Harden and Stacey Griffiths sharing the heats, whilst Kaylee Dighton won the meeting final, and Folkestone based driver Lee Saunders won the last car running destruction derby event.
